   Meteorologist Brad Nitz joined WSB-TV in January 2006.His forecasts can be seen every Saturday and Sunday morning, noon, 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
   
   Brad graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Meteorology.Brad also holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society.The CBM is a new certification program that replaces the old AMS seal of approval (read more about it here: www.ametsoc.org/amscert/index.html#cbm).Relatively
   few meteorologists have completed this rigorous certification, Brad is one of the first 90 meteorologists in the country to do so.This means you can count on Brad to bring you the most accurate and dependable weather forecasts during severe weather or sunshine and everything in between.
   
   Brad has worked most of his career forecasting tornadoes and hurricanes in Florida at stations in Orlando and Jacksonville.Most recently, Brad worked for national cable network MSNBC and NBC WeatherPlus.
   
   Brad says taking viewers through Hurricanes Katrina and Rita plus the rest of the historic hurricane season of 2005 along with Florida's deadliest tornado outbreak in 1998 are among his career highlights.
   
   Brad, who has a private pilot license, had the opportunity to fly with the Navy's Blue Angels in 2002.He says it was an incredible experience that was a lot of fun and gave him an appreciation for the extraordinary skill and ability of the Navy pilots.Brad says this was the most fun he's ever had while "working."
   
   Brad and his wife Aimee, a Roswell native, live in East Cobb County with their two daughters.

   Brad grew up in Jacksonville and earned his bachelor of science degree in meteorology from Florida State University. Brad also holds the American Meteorological Society's seal of approval for his weather broadcasts.
   
   Brad says taking viewers through Florida's deadliest tornado outbreak in 1998 was his most memorable experience on TV. Brad has been recognized in magazines and newspapers for his non-stop coverage of the tornadoes. The Orlando Sentinel said, "WESH meteorologist Brad Nitz calmly and clearly monitored the storms, advised viewers on how to protect themselves and provided astonishing detail from the Super Doppler radar... Nitz projected when storms would reach residential areas to the minute and warned viewers who lived on specific streets."
   
   Brad speaks to groups all over Central Florida about severe weather and hurricane preparedness.
   
   After working at WTLV-TV in Jacksonville, he joined WESH in August 1997. Now Brad frequently looks for sunny skies so he can go surfing, wakeboarding and skiing.
   
   Brad lives in Lake Mary with his wife, daughter, dog and two cats.
