   Saurabh interned with the City of Madison during the summer of 2006. Saurabh participated in an applied research project to assist the City in achieving compliance with U.S. EPA Phase II regulations regarding stormwater pollution. With guidance from his academic advisor, Dennis Wichelns, Professor of Economics, and Jim Turner, Utilities Manager for the City of Madison, Saurabh developed an economic survey to assess public knowledge and preferences regarding stormwater management.

   Saurabh tested preliminary versions of his survey instrument in focus groups comprised of city residents. Saurabh led the implementation of the survey, collect the results, and present his findings in oral and written form to the City of Madison. His report contained recommendations for strategies the city might implement to achieve compliance with EPA regulations.
   
   Saurabh is a member of the Dean's List, a recipient of a first-year integration (FYI) grant and was awarded a Merit Scholarship to attend Hanover College.
