Betty Nippi-Albright, Secretary
Betty is a member of the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation in Saskatchewan.
She is the third youngest of 13 children eight of whom are affected with Diabetes and its complications.
She resides in Saskatoon with her husband Ivan.
They have three children and one grandson.
Betty has been active in the area of Diabetes awareness and prevention since 1995 when she facilitated diabetes education and awareness classes to several inner-city schools in Saskatoon.
She was also the project coordinator for the Diabetes prevention program called Pathways to Well Being before she went to the Saskatoon Health Region as the Aboriginal Community Developer.
In 2005, she completed the full marathon in Rome Italy for Team Diabetes and is doing a half marathon in the Okanagan Valley in October 2007.
She is very active in her community and brings an Aboriginal voice and perspective to the committees that she is involved in at the National, Provincial, Regional and First Nation level.
She has served as a board member with the YWCA of Saskatoon and has been the Saskatchewan North Regional Chair for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
In addition to being a NADA board member, Betty is also involved with the United Way of Saskatoon board of directors as a board member.
