Michelle is currently enrolled as a student in BCIT's GIS Advanced Diploma Program. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. In school, she mainly focused on GIS, remote sensing, cartography and environmental studies. Her undergraduate project experience includes remote sensing and GIS analysis of potential release sites for captive-bred marmots on Vancouver Island, mapping Queen Elizabeth Park's disc golf course and transportation network analysis. Michelle not only enjoys the aesthetic aspect of data visualization but also realizes the importance it has in GIS. She anticipates applying the skills learned in this program to (but not limited to) web mapping, GIS customization, urban environmental issues, transportation analysis and conservation. -
