Elva A. Niles
Elva Alberta Ash Niles , 93 , of Colusa died Feb. 14 , 2001 , at Colusa Community Hospital.
Born at her family's home , located between Arbuckle and Williams , she was a lifelong Mid-Valley resident.She earned a teaching degree at Chico Normal and taught school in Colusa for 32 years.She was a lifelong member of the Colusa First Christian Church , where she played the organ for more than 60 years ; and a member of the Veritas Chapter of Eastern Star for more than 75 years , serving as California's grand representative to the state of Washington.
In addition , she was a member of the Pink Ladies at Colusa Community Hospital , the Colusa Woman's Club , the Colusi County Historical Society and the Retired Teachers Association.
