Having initially trained and practised as a nurse, Peter Nicklin has held senior managerial and academic appointments in the health and university sectors.His broad teaching and research interests are in the field of clinical leadership and the assessment and management of clinical risk.

Peter was the founding director of the Centre for Health and Social Care Management, University of York.In addition to being a patient safety advisor to MPS Risk Consulting, he is a director of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a honorary senior fellow, University of Manchester Medical School.
