  He received his B.S. in electrical engineering at Iran's prestigious Sharif University of Technology, ranking second in his graduating class.Farid was then the top-ranking student in the M.S. program in Sharif University of Technology when he immigrated to the U.S. to complete his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.
