Kathy Nelson is the owner and head coach of KAATS Gymnastics, Inc.She is married and has 2 children.All members of her family are actively involved in the activities at the gym.

Kathy has competed in gymnastics throughout her entire life.At Winona State University, she was a four-time All-American Division 2 competitor.Upon graduation from college, Kathy embarked on a career as a physical education instructor, as well as a professional, licensed gymnastics coach.She has been coaching recreational and competitive gymnasts for 27 years now.In 2003, Kathy was honored to be inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at her alma mater.

Kathy is currently serving as the National Chairperson representing the State of Minnesota in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).In 2000, her coaching peers honored Kathy with the MAGA Coach of the Year award for the third time.
