"I got everything from threats of physical violence to death threats," said Kathy Nelson, promotion and marketing director for Metro Sports.
"I don't think I've ever been called that many names, sworn at that many times.I wasn't prepared for that.People need to realize we tried to get the games live."
Nelson said she asked for a security escort to her car in the Time Warner parking lot Tuesday night.
"It was scary," she said.
Nelson and the staff at Metro Sports also got an eye-opening look into the depth of the rivalry between Missouri and Kansas.
"You can't believe how many people thought it was some kind of conspiracy acted out by Kansas fans," she said."People were saying, `The only reason you're doing this is because Kansas lost, and now you're trying to get even with Missouri fans.' "
Nelson said she did muster a laugh when she polled all 30 station members and found out that not a single person went to Kansas.
"Guess that shoots that theory down," she said."The truth is, we have eight more Missouri games this year that can be seen only on Metro Sports. And we have no Kansas games."
