With more than 15 years experience in sales, and sales management, Kathy Nelson brings real-world, hands-on experience to her consulting practice.Kathy is a dynamic sales management professional with extensive expertise in both international and domestic sales environments.She has held positions of increasing responsibility including regional manager, director, general manager, and international sales manager in the chemical, medical and retail industries.
At the start of her career with Dow Chemical, Kathy managed an $11 million territory selling plastics to the medical device market in the Northeast.She managed global relationships with Dow's largest medical customers, Becton Dickenson and Johnson & Johnson.Using the Miller Heiman sales process, she negotiated a five year, multi-million dollar global contract with Johnson & Johnson to position Dow as the primary source of plastics.
Leaving Dow, Kathy joined an Inc.500 company focused on the retail industry, McCue Corporation.Kathy grew the business in the Northeast by over 50% in her first seven months.She was then asked to build and run the sales team in the western half of the United States, where she grew the business from $2 million to $4.5 million in less than three years.Most recently as the General Manager for European operations in the UK, Kathy managed McCue's sales operations into profitability for the first time in its five year history and restructured the European sales and operations team to run as an extension of the US parent company instead of a 'division'.

Kathy earned a B.S in Business Administration and a B.A. in Spanish from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.Originally from Dearborn, Michigan she now resides with her husband and two children in the shore town of Madison, Connecticut.
Kathy actively participates in the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE).She is a guest speaker at the University of Connecticut, School of Business.
