  Neal received her bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, her masters degree from the University of Arkansas and her doctorate degree from Indiana University.
  
  Prior to joining the administration of IPFW in 2001, she worked for the Employment Services Division for the State of Arkansas and later at Youngstown State University and Sinclair Community College in Ohio.
  
  In addition to her work in the educational field, Neal is an active member of Union Baptist Church and served as the president of the YMCA board of directors from 2005 to 2007. She is an active member of the Fort Wayne Urban League board, the Fort Wayne Community Schools Minority Recruitment Committee and Fort Wayne Chapter of Links Inc.

  ,Edna Neal , IPFW Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs - Neal is the first black person to serve as the vice chancellor for student affairs at IPFW.She has developed a number of diversity initiatives at the school.She has also served as board president of the YWCA, treasurer of Links Inc., Fort Wayne Ballet, Girl Scout Council and chairwoman of the Fort Wayne Rotary's Excellence in Education Committee.

  Edna Neal, YWCA board president, said it is an exciting time for the YWCA, as selling the property will allow the group to focus on empowering women and eliminating racism.She said caring for the sprawling site took time and money.
