Variety Club, the national children's charity, has appointed Ronnie Nathan to the annual post of Chief Barker, chairman of their trustees, for the duration of 2006.
Prior to his new appointment, Nathan joined Variety Club in 1985 and served on many fundraising committees.In 1991 he became a director and trustee of the charity.Since then he has chaired the Sunshine Coaches, Appeals and Events committees.He is also a co-founder of Variety Club's Property Industry Committee established 15 years ago which has since raised £3.5 million.
Ronnie Nathan says:"Variety Club has a rich history of directly supporting sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and their families.I am very excited to have this opportunity to spearhead the charity.I look forward to consolidating the important developments that Variety has achieved in recent years.We will continue to support children throughout the UK, so that we deliver tangible positive changes in their everyday lives."
Ronnie Nathan is also Chairman of Capital and Overseas Holdings Limited, a private property development and investment group.
