Robert Nathan

Robert Nathan, our owner, is a native Tanzanian from the Maasai tribe.Robert has received a diploma from the Wildlife College in Mweka and studied park and wildlife management at the University of Michigan.He was the first black Tanzanian and the second black East African to lead tourists on safari in Tanzania.For many years he worked for Lindblad before working with A&K as one of their most sought-after naturalist guides.Robert's deep love for his country, the wildlife, parks, and people is evident in the poety and short stories he writes in any spare time he may find - most of his time is spent in the bush.

The deep love and feelings he shares with the wildlife and African bush is easily instilled in those who have the good fortune to travel with him.His incredible knowledge of the animals behavior, birdlife, plants and trees adds another whole dimension to the success of a safari.Having been in the safari business for years, he has established a very good relationship with the lodge staff, ranges, etc which also enriches a safari experience.
