DENVER – Attorney Richard L. Nathan has become special counsel to the law firm of Robinson Waters & O'Dorisio.
Nathan will continue to focus on regulatory licensing and compliance matters, emphasizing gaming law, professional licensing, commercial and employment representation and litigation.
During his career, Nathan has represented local and national businesses, gaming concerns, and professional baseball and ice hockey teams.Prior to reentering the private practice of law 21 years ago, Nathan served as President and General Manager of the Denver Gold, the city's United States Football League franchise.Before that he spent seven years as Director of Colorado's Organized Crime Strike Force while also serving as the First Assistant Attorney General in charge of Criminal Justice for the state.He has taught and lectured on subjects including criminal justice enforcement, racketeering, public corruption and trial tactics.He has taught Gaming Law as an adjunct professor-of-law at the University of Denver.
Nathan received his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1972.He received his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Denver in 1970.He is admitted to practice law in Colorado and has appeared in the courts of California, New York, Massachusetts, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Illinois, Oregon and Washington, DC.
