WASHINGTON , The Japanese American Citizens League announced Dana Y. Nakano, of Fountain Valley, Calif., as recipient of the 2006-07 Mike M. Masaoka Congressional Fellow.
Nakano will spend three and a half months working in the Capitol Hill office of Congressman Mike Honda (D-Calif.), learning firsthand about policy-making and public service and receiving a stipend of $8,500 plus roundtrip airfare.

Nakano received his undergraduate degrees in International Relations, Japanese and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently a graduate student in the Asian American Studies Department at San Francisco State University.A 4th-generation Japanese American, Nakano hopes to continue his education as a doctoral student in sociology.
