Andrea also worked at KION-TV in Monterey, California reporting, anchoring, and doing fill-in sports. She also briefly worked at KRCR-TV in Redding, California. Her on-air career though began in Eureka, California at KIEM-TV.

Andrea is very active in the community. She also is a board member for the Japanese American Citizens League-San Diego. She frequently visits with Japanese seniors at Kiku Gardens in Chula Vista, as part of their weekly lunch program.
