Andrea Nakano
Vice President
Andrea Nakano joined San Diego 6 as the weekend sports anchor and reporter in February of 2007.
She's not new to San Diego.
Andrea arrived in America's finest city a week before the 2003 Cedar Fire and covered news for KFMB-TV for more than three years.
Her passion always was to cover sports so she made the switch to pursue her dreams at San Diego 6.
Andrea Nakano has a wealth of world experience.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Andrea has also lived in Japan, Belgium, and England.
She eventually made her way to California where she graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in broadcast and electronic communication arts.
Andrea also worked at KION-TV in Monterey, California reporting, anchoring, and doing fill-in sports.
She also briefly worked at KRCR-TV in Redding, California.
Her on-air career though began in Eureka, California at KIEM-TV.
Andrea is very active in the community.
She also is a board member for the Japanese American Citizens League-San Diego.
She frequently visits with Japanese seniors at Kiku Gardens in Chula Vista, as part of their weekly lunch program.
Andrea also works closely with the children at Minato Gakuen, a school for Japanese students in Eastlake.
