  Before joining Sparke Helmore, Paul was a founding partner of Campbell Muscat Lawyers following his practice as a barrister at the Queensland Bar since his admission in 1996. As a barrister, Paul gained extensive experience as an advocate in both prosecuting and defending construction and other commercial claims and resolving disputes. He also appeared in alternative dispute resolution forums, including settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations, adjudications and expert determinations.
  
  Paul has been a member of various industry working parties comprising peak industry bodies in relation to legislative changes and their implementation. During this time, Paul negotiated, drafted and implemented a memorandum of understanding between government and stakeholders in relation to compliance with relevant legislation.

  Prior to admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, Paul was admitted to practice as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland in April 1996 and of the High Court and any federal court in May 1996.He is also registered as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory.Paul has a degree in law from the Queensland University of technology.
