Terry Mulroy, Wickliffe Class of 1980, was a co-host of the production as a freshman, and appeared in the first "Gong Show" back in 1977. He is a member of the Writers' Guild of America and a past writer-producer of shows such as "According to Jim" and "Still Standing." He also wrote for "The Drew Carey Show" for several years after sharing an apartment with Carey while they both were stand-up comedians.He credits Wolfgram for his success, and made the trip back for the tribute."He really did deserve it," Mulroy said of the evening."He gave me the confidence to get into stand-up, something I never would have done without him.I was so proud of the community on Saturday."Wickliffe is a special city, like something out of Mayberry.It is so hard to get people together, but I wish every kid could have a teacher like that.He was the first adult to treat me like an equal, and I just feel really blessed to have known him."Despite the travel for the California resident, Mulroy was glad he went.He was not alone.
