Despite the changes, the season was progressing smoothly, said Keith Mullin, a game commission wildlife conservation officer who oversees Chester County.
"I haven't had as many complaints at this point in the season as I did last year at this time," he said.
Mullin, his deputies and game commission officials had been out on patrol much of last week.

As more of the county's housing is built further out from already developed areas and main roads, Mullin said, "that is an ever-growing problem in Chester County. ..Some homeowners don't want to see any (hunter's fluorescent) orange at all, even if it's more than 150 yards away."
Hunters know the safety zone rules and must follow them, he said, but homeowners should as well and know where 150 yards actually is.
"It would be fair to say that the rules must be obeyed on both sides of the line," said Mullin.
