Upper Dublin world language supervisor Eva Morrison said three German teachers and one Spanish teacher participated in the Fulbright program that allows teachers to switch jobs and homes with a foreign counterpart for one year.
"The Fulbright program is a federal program that runs a teacher exchange between 15 to 20 countries in world. The exchange is always a direct exchange and we accept a teacher in that person's place.Having the privilege to work in a public school in another country is unique. It gives an unusual vantage point," Morrison said.
Morrison said teachers apply individually and the acceptance terms are quite rigorous.
"For our language teachers it shows that they have a real commitment to excellence in language teaching," Morrison said.
