eDopus announced today that Rudolph F. Morris , Ed.D. , was named as its newest member of the Company's board of directors.Dr. Morris currently serves as the executive director of the Institute for K-12 Leadership at the University of California in San Diego.Most recently he served as chancellor of the Los Angeles Public Schools , and has held superintendent and principal positions for numerous school districts across the country over the past 25 years.
Dr. Morris also has over 28 years of teaching experience , most recently as an associate in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and as an assistant adjunct professor at California State University.For the past ten years , he has continued as an adjunct professor at Lesley College in Cambridge , Massachusetts.
Widely known and respected as an expert in educational leadership , Dr. Morris has received numerous awards for his outstanding contributions as an educator and citizen.He has served on several boards of directors for many educational institutions , including Babson College in Wellesley , Massachusetts , and the Institute for Research on Learning in Palo Alto , California , among others.He serves on the advisory panel for the Harvard Graduate School of Education Urban Superintendents Program and has served on the panel for the U.S. Department of Defense Schools in Washington , D.C. In addition to his educational administration and instruction background , Dr. Morris is actively involved in Arts and Cultural associations , and currently serves as a director on the boards of such organizations as the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the New York Philharmonic.
Originally from Springfield , Illinois , Dr. Morris holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration and a Master of Education degree in Urban Education , both from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Babson College.Dr. Morris is a member of the American Association of School Administrators , the National Education Research Policy and Priorities Board of the U.S. Department of Education in Washington , D.C. , and was a fellow with the Rockefeller Foundation Center for Educational Leadership , among other business and community activities.
With today's announcement , eDopus has five board members , three of whom are outside directors.
