Info on 873286 or 875765 Formby Village resident is awarded the C.B.E. September 2008 Roy Morris of Shireburn Road, Formby Village, has been honoured by being appointed a Commander of The British Empire as an acknowledgement of his services to the City of Liverpool.
Mr. Morris was formerly the chairman of Merseyside's main tourism and economic regeneration body, The Mersey Partnership.
Mr Morris is also a former chief executive of Rathbone Brothers, one of the city's oldest businesses in Liverpool.
He also served as chairman of Rathbone's executive committee, having spent all of his working career with the organisation, based in the Port of Liverpool Building.
He was a partner in Rathbone Bros. & Co and became managing director in 1988 prior to his appointment as group chief executive in 1997.
Mr Morris is a Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside and is the chair of Liverpool Women's Hospital Trust's Finance and Contracting Committee, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Foundation.
He was appointed chairman of The Mersey Partnership in February 2000.
