The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) recently selected Capt. Roy Morris as the new Regional Supervisor for the Region III Law Enforcement Office, headquartered in Thomson.He fills the position that was left vacant by Lt.Col.Jeff Weaver, who was promoted to the position of Assistant Chief of Law Enforcement.Region III encompasses the east central part of the state.

Capt. Roy Morris began his career with DNR in 1974.He studied Law Enforcement and Agriculture Extension (which included wildlife conservation) at the University of Georgia and also graduated from the Northeast Georgia Police Academy (where he received the Top Gun Award).He worked flood detail in Albany during 1994 where he supervised the night shift duties.Morris also supervised instructors and counselors during a statewide Outdoor Wildlife Camp in both 1998 and 1999.
