Karen Helen Morin, RN, DSN
Karen Morin is a director of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, having been elected in 2003 to serve a four-year term.Since becoming an honor society member, she has served in numerous chapter-, regional- and international-level positions.Specifically, she served as chapter president, chapter secretary, consortium coordinator, Region 6 communications counterpart, member of the international-level Heritage and Program committees and abstract reviewer.She also has served as a chapter chartering officer, an induction speaker and an awards judge.
Most recently, she was a member of the international Finance Committee.In addition, she continues to serve as a site visitor for petitioning honor societies.Morin served as a distinguished lecturer and is a Virginia Henderson Fellow.She maintains membership in the Nu, Beta Sigma, Kappa Rho and Eta Beta chapters.
As director, Morin hopes to foster leadership development for members and chapters, enhance international linkages, promote scholarship through diversity, and identify professional and societal issues that can have an impact on the honor society's future.
Morin is a professor at Western Michigan University Bronson School of Nursing.She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Ottawa, her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Central Arkansas and her Doctor of Science in Nursing from University of Alabama.
