After his service, Moran resided in Miami Beach, Florida where he started his career in the hotel industry.He worked in various management and executive positions at the Eden Roc, Deauville, and Diplomat Hotels in Miami Beach, Fl.He then moved back to New York to continue his life's journey, and started his own companies in advertising and public relations.Meanwhile, he became heavily involved in politics, working with the Democratic Party in New York.

While continuing to work in national and state politics, Moran expanded his reach into the motion picture and entertainment industries by handling the public relations and promotions on assorted major motion pictures, as well as serving as a consultant to various major studios.In addition, he was Director of Public Relations for Shirley MacLaine, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinck.In his later years, he was involved locally with Courtesy Pontiac and Peoples GMC - Pontiac, in Public Relations Sales.He and his wife of forty-nine years, Joan, moved to Las Vegas sixteen years ago and have been involved in fundraising for various charities such as Reach Out for Children with HIV & Aids, E. O. B. and Child Haven.Moran was also the V. P. of the Red Rock Democratic Club and member of the local U. S. Marine Corp League.
