   Ms. Mootz has worked as an appellate review attorney in the Office of Federal Operations. Her primary function was to review and draft appellate decision on federal sector matters. She is a recent recipient of the Chair's Opportunity to Reward Excellence Award, for her work in authoring portions of training manuals used by the Commission in teaching eeo law.
   
   While pursuing her legal education, Ms. Mootz published an influential article entitled "Independent Paralegals Can Fill the Gap in Unmet Legal Services for the Low-Income Community." With a dedication to public interest law, Ms. Mootz was intricately involved in the Juvenile Special Education Clinic and the Housing and Consumer Law Clinic. Though her clinical studies, Ms. Mootz advocated for low income District of Columbia residents living in dire circumstances. Ms. Mootz has received numerous awards, including The Jack Olender Earl H. David Advocacy Award, The Excellence in Academics Award, and the Dean's Cup for outstanding clinical service. Licensed in the District of Columbia, she received her J.D. in 2000, graduating magna cum laude from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. She received her B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University.
