    It was illuminating to hear, first hand from Rev. Buddy Monahan, how much this offering means to students attending racial-ethnic Presbyterian schools like Menaul. When Buddy, who serves as Chaplain and teacher at the Menaul School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, preached at our church on December 16, 2008 he told us about the Native American and Hispanic students who receive scholarships through the Christmas Joy Offering.

    Monahan teaches high school religion classes and coaches the boys' basketball team.His passion for youth ministry, especially among native youth, is evidenced by his involvement as an adult advisor to the American Indian Youth Council of the PC(USA).Buddy enjoys the outdoors, playing basketball and running and is a big Oklahoma Sooner fan.
