The end of the 2001-02 academic year saw many high-level administrative changes that will affect fundraising, the graduate school, the medical school and other areas.
Vice President for Development Jim Husson announced in late June that he will leave to take the same position at Boston College beginning Aug. 19.
Husson, who has worked at Brown for three years, said his decision to leave Brown was not associated with any unhappiness with his current job.
A Boston native, Husson said he was not looking for a position at other universities and planned to continue work in development for Brown when Boston College approached him.
Husson said he looks forward to advancing Boston College's goals and to being a part of its campus community.
A new Office of Advancement will unite the offices of alumni relations, development and volunteer engagement, as announced in January. Husson said the move to consolidate these offices was a logical decision.
Ronald Vanden Dorpel GS '71, president for university development at Northwestern University, was named the senior vice president for advancement in late April.
Vanden Dorpel will also lead the University in its next capital campaign. -
