   Mr. Misener's work experience can be summed up simply by one word, ENTREPENEUR. Being a blind businessman, Mr. Misener knows the trials and tribulations of making it in a sighted world.

   Using this business as a vehicle to show the potentials of the blind, Mr. Misener received local press and statewide acclaim for promoting the independence of blind and disabled people in the state of Colorado. He received a personal "keep up the good work" from State Representative, Pat Schroeder.
   
   In 1982, Mr. Misener decided to turn his efforts towards making his own product. For 7 years Mr. Misener designed, manufactured, marketed, wholesaled and retailed a folding, camping chair.

   In 1989, Mr. Misener sold Mile High Handicrafts and founded Beyond Sight, Inc. The first goal, and the store's motto, is Breaking barriers to go Beyond Sight. Beyond Sight was the first retail store with a complete selection of products specifically designed for the blind and visually impaired.
   
   The second goal of Mr. Misener's was to hire the blind and visually impaired. Currently Beyond Sight has eight full time employees, three of whom are blind.
