QUALIFICATIONS AND CAREER PROFILE
Merril A. Mironer is a Partner of Rosenman & Colin LLP and Co-Chair of the Firm's Employment and Labor Practice Group.
Mr. Mironer has more than 20 years of experience, representing management in a wide variety of matters defending employers against claims of employment discrimination before Federal, state and municipal agencies.He regularly assists employers in formulating and implementing policies and practices with a view towards avoiding liability for claims related to the company's employment practices.He has also handled numerous cases involving violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) and other specialized labor and employment matters.Mr. Mironer also has extensive experience in conducting labor negotiations and in conducting the trial of administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
He is frequently called upon to address employer associations and various management groups on employment practices issues, and regularly conducts sensitivity training programs for management and rank and file employees on such subjects as sexual harassment and the Americans With Disabilities Act.
ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMITTEES
Mr. Mironer is a member of the Labor Section of the New York State Bar Association and its Executive Committee, serving as Chair of its Committee on Labor Arbitration and Collective Bargaining.
EDUCATION
Mr. Mironer received his undergraduate degree with honors (B.S., 1962) from Union College and his law degree cum laude (J.D., 1965) from Columbia University School of Law.
