Anne Minard is a freelance science writer living in Tennessee. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master's degree, also in biology, from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She's written about science on the staffs of several newspapers and most recently as a freelance journalist. Minard's writing has appeared in the New York Times, Science magazine, the L. A. Times, Arizona Highways and numerous smaller publications. Her first book, "Pluto and Beyond," was published in April of 2007. Most of Minard's current work appears online at National Geographic News.
