Surviving is his loving family, children, Marlene (Kenneth) Douglas, Hector, NY; Daniel (Deborah) Miller, Pine City, NY; Darlene Coch, St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Marcia (James) King, Laura (Omar) Six, Kimberly Douglas, Danielle (Mike) Cervantes who both are serving in Iraq; Jenna (Brandon, serving in Iraq) Girardi, and Julianne Coch; great grandchildren, Brandon and Justin King, Matthew and Megan Griffin, Kara Six and Gavin Girardi; brothers, Hugh (Norma) Miller and Bruce (Louise) Miller; sisters, Thelma Gadway, Vilma (Harvey) Pearson, Anita Ingraham and Zeneth Dallos.

Danny was very well loved by his family and many friends.He grew up in Waterloo, NY where he was born on January 8, 1951 son of Carl D. & Alice Norcott Van Tassel.He married Jane Schendel on July 18, 1970 in Waterloo.His many interest included hunting, Pike fishing, boating.Danny served two years in the United States Air Force.He was employed by the Labor Union # 1358 in Elmira Heights for many years and worked in highway construction. . After moving to Chemung he raised and took care of his loving family who survive, his wife and companion of 36 years, Jane Van Tassel, along with their children, Sheila Perry, Cheming, NY; Valerie Van Tassel, Deltona, FL; Shawn (Angela) Van Tassel, New Freedom, PA; Danny's mother, Alice Van Tassel, Waterloo, NY; a sister, Gloria (Derek) Scott, Limestone, TN; three brothers, Kirk Van Tassel, Chemung, NY; Marvin (Linda) Van Tassel, Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Kenny Van Tassel, Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Alicia and Kayla Perry, Kylie and Jack Van Tassel; an aunt and uncle, Kenny (Lori) Norcott, Waterloo, NY; several nieces, nephews and many family friends especially Jim & Janelle Decker.Danny was a good husband, a good father and a hard working man who will be missed by many.
