"Preserving the sacred art of birth is her vision"
Catharine Miller is a Licensed Midwife (LM) of twenty years, recognized both by the state of California and nationally certified through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
She trained through the apprenticeship model, working with different midwives in her community, and at a high-volume birthing clinic in Texas. She also trained with a physician who had a home birth practice in San Diego.
Having worked in midwifery since 1985, she has been involved in keeping the home birthing option open for families, and in promoting the women's right to choose the best birthing path. She is active in her state organization, the California Association of Midwives (CAM) and has served on their Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA).

After the birth of her son in 1982, she was drawn to serve women throughout their childbearing years. She recognized the gap in our society's approach to birth between honoring the natural process of childbirth and providing the necessary ?medical safety net.?With this recognition she developed a comprehensive program of midwifery care to nurture body, mind and spirit.
YogaPracticing and teaching Yoga since 1980 has allowed Catharine to observe the incredible benefits for the childbearing woman. She has experienced these benefits first hand during her own pregnancy and birth and now offers yoga, breath work, meditation and guided imagery to expectant moms.
