Mr. Miller described the significant public input in the development of the library design.The design now before Council represents conclusion of the schematic design phase to be followed by the design development/construction documents phase.The project can be put out to bid in May, 2001 and to have construction start in June, 2001 and completed by June of 2002.Library Staff and Library Building Advisory Committee, and Library Board have all contributed to the development of the design.The project is in line with the planning budget.Mr. Miller then provided a more detailed description of the facility.

Brad Miller has practiced architecture for 19 years, designing public buildings and private residences. Brad's projects include public and academic libraries, grade schools, and computer technology facilities. In the past five years Brad led the design process for six library projects ranging from 7,000 sf to 101,000 sf, making presentations to community groups, city councils, and agency boards. Brad practiced for ten years with the firm of Cardwell/Thomas & Associates, and practiced independently as an architect and library design consultant for two years prior to joining Miller Hayashi Architects.
