Sharon Meyers

Sharon Meyers has been with NPC Consulting for 10 years consulting with non-profits and K-12 schools on technology strategic planning, needs analysis, business process analysis and professional development. She has experience in both web design and FileMaker database development. Prior to joining NPC, she worked for over 20 years in high tech as both a SW engineering manager and an engineer, plus several years in K-12 education as a Dir. of Technology, Curriculum Coordinator and teacher. She holds an MA in Instructional Technology from SJSU.

Sharon Meyers has a Master's degree in Instructional Technology.She is currently Curriculum Coordinator for Trinity School in Menlo Park, and is also an education technology consultant with NPC Consulting specializing in curriculum integration and staff development.Her background includes 20 years in software engineering and engineering management, and several years as a classroom teacher and technology administrator.

Menlo School Website

Menlo School is a college preparatory school for 6th through 12th grades. Sharon was the volunteer webmaster for school's website for two years, until the task grew beyond the scope of a volunteer position.

Sharon served on the Benefit Executive Committee as general database guru throughout her son's high school years, and continues to advise the committee since her son's graduation in 2004. She rewrote the registration and mailing database and combines information for multiple data sources into a single streamlined tool for easier use by various committee volunteers, and is currently guiding the move to on-line tools.

Sharon served on the I-CUE board for three years, two as President and one as Secretary. Sharon has also served on various organizing committees for the annual conference, including Registration and Conference Program layout and production.

Mark Miller Ph.D. is the founder of The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology , a small nonprofit corporation , which evolved out of an independent educational technology consultancy . Before founding the Institute , Mark was a lab director at Apple Computer , where he spent nine years heading up innovative learning technology R&D programs within Apple's Advanced Technology.Programs under Miller's direction at various times included Apple Classroom of Tomorrow , Visualization and Simulation ( KidSim , Cocoa ) ; Business Learning and Performance Support ; and Multimedia Authoring Tools.Mark received a B.S. in Cognitive Science at UCSD and a doctorate from M.I.T.He has also worked at the Central Research Laboratories of Texas Instruments , and he helped found Computer Thought Corporation , a software venture developing knowledge based training systems.He has taught at the University of Texas and Southern Methodist.Mark works closely with K-12 schools on technology planning , and is member of the Governance Council at the San Carlos Charter Learning Center.He is also involved with the Technology Committee of Joint Venture Silicon Valley and Challenge 2000.He is an internationally recognized speaker and seminar leader who has been named a Virtual Visiting Scholar at the Open University Knowledge Media in the UK.

Sharon Meyers joins board of Services for Brain Injury

After serving for a year on the Technology Committee, Services for Brain Injury invited Sharon to join the Board of Directors. Sharon is looking forward to serving SBI in this new role, and as well as continuing her involvement with the Technology Comittee. She has also joined SBI's Facilities Committee to address tecdhnology related issues as SBI prepares to move into new space in July, 2008.
