   Corporation Counsel Barbara M Meyer has lived in Skokie all of her life.She was appointed Corporation Counsel for the Village of Skokie in July 1987, after serving as Assistant Corporation Counsel for eight years.Ms. Meyer holds a J.D. from Drake University and graduated with honors from Northeastern Illinois University.An active Skokie resident, Ms. Meyer serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Skokie Valley, and is also Chairman of the Skokie Caucus Party.She is a member and serves on the Board of Directors of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, and also belongs to the Illinois, Chicago and Woman's Bar Associations.Among her professional credentials is admittance to practice before the United States Supreme Court.Ms. Meyer serves on the Home Rule Attorneys Committee of the Illinois Municipal League, and she is a member and past chairman of the Northwest Municipal Conference's Attorneys Committee.In 1986 Ms. Meyer was recognized with a Volunteer Leadership Award from United Way of Suburban Chicago and United Way, Inc.
