   Mike and Linda Mewhinney quickly answered TI's challenge with a $1 million personal donation to the Rising Star endowment.

   Mr. Mewhinney is a partner with the investment management firm of Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney and Strauss and a member of the Foundation Board's Executive Committee. He also chairs the Foundation's Investment Committee. Linda Mewhinney recently retired from her responsibilities as owner of Lilly Dodson/Escada, a retail clothing store rated by Women's Wear Daily as the best store in the U.S. last year.
