SEQUIM, Wash. - Kathleen Alma Metzer, 67, of Sequim, Wash., died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Port Angeles, Wash.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1934, in Oswego to Vernon Joseph and Alma Bridget (Carland) Sevart.She attended Oswego and Oak Grove District No. 24 schools and graduated from Oswego High School in 1951 and Coffeyville Community College in 1953.

She worked as an executive secretary for the Bellevue school district, as well as Bellevue Community College.

She enjoyed gardening and nature.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Issaquah book club and the Overlake Hospital Guild in Bellevue.

She married James Metzer on May 30, 1953, at the Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego.He survives of the home.They lived in Wichita, Irving, Texas, and St. Louis before moving to the Seattle area in 1965.

Kathleen Alma Metzer of Sequim, formerly of Bellevue, died Dec. 7, 2001, in Port Angeles.She was 67.

Mrs. Metzer was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Oswego, Kansas.In 1951 she graduated from high school in Oswego, and in 1953 she graduated from Coffeyville Junior College.She married James Metzer May 30, 1953, in Oswego.

She lived in Bellevue from 1965 to 1990.

After raising her children, Mrs. Metzer was an executive secretary for the Bellevue School District and Bellevue Community College.She enjoyed spending time with her family and liked crossword puzzles, gardening and animals, especially birds.Mrs. Metzer was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Issaquah Book Club ad the Overlake Hospital Guild in Bellevue.

Mrs. Metzer's brother, Alan Sevart, died in 1940, followed by her mother, Alma Sevart, in 1978, and father, Vernon, in 1985.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughters Teresa Thompson of Issaquah, Barbara Fox of Sammamish, Janet Wickre of Burien and Becky Metzer of Mukilteo; sister Lily Corso of Moorestown, N.J.; brothers Frank Sevart of Parsons, Kan., and Bart Sevart and Dan Sevart, both of Wichita, Kan.; and eight grandchildren.

A rosary service has been held.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Issaquah.
