After graduating in Business Administration at the University of Groningen, Berend joined Northern Telecom as Marketing Manager. Four years later he moved to KPN which had developed close ties with Northern Telecom. Berend was responsible for introducing Northern Telecom's products into the Dutch market and was closely involved with Teleselect - a joint venture between Philips Media, KPN Media and the American company Graff. Berend's fascination with the new media went into a higher gear when he became the driving force behind KPN's portal strategy and continues today with his ongoing commitment to Q-go.
Berend Metz founded Q-go in July 1999 with Stan P. van de Burgt, Q-go's CTO. As Chief Executive Officer, Berend oversees the ongoing implementation of the company's strategy and is responsible for investor relations.
