   Alan Metcalfe and Anke Raake of Philadelphia-based Metcalfe Architecture & Design present a check for $1,500 to the Charter High School of Architecture and Design (CHAD). Metcalfe Architecture & Design was the recipient of the 2007 Design Awards in the Renovations category for its Valley Green Bank project in Mt. Airy. As part of the prize, the firm was given the opportunity to designate a school to receive a scholarship award, sponsored by the Metal Construction Association.    Alan Metcalfe is the founding partner at Metcalfe Architecture & Design. He leads the practice and was lead designer for the Bell Atlantic Mobile prototype stores and The Germantown Jewish Centre. Additionally, he currently heads work at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, NY and the World Savings Bank in Cherry Hill, NJ. His experience in the Philadelphia area includes work with Ballinger Architects as a lead designer for Conrail's headquarters, and the additions and renovations to Lower Bucks Hospital. With over ten years of construction experience, Alan brings a deep understanding of craft to the practice. He received a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University where he was a recipient of the Kinne Traveling Fellowship. A frequent guest critic at local universities, Alan has also taught architecture at Temple University and Philadelphia University.
