Dr. Edward Merrin MD

Edward Merrin , MDAdult PsychiatryPetalumaDr. Merrin is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California , San Francisco and is a regular examiner of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.He received his medical degree at UCSF in 1971 and his psychiatric training at Dartmouth Medical School.Much of his career was spent directing clinical teaching programs in inpatient and emergency psychiatry at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco , where he also conducted research in the brain physiology of schizophrenics and conducted clinical trials of new antipsychotic drugs.More recently , he has served as Medical Director of the geropsychiatric unit at Petaluma Valley Hospital.He is currently the Medical Director of PsychStrategies and the Acute Psychiatric Unit at North Coast Health Care Centers.
