Michael MerrillA founder of Merrill-Hall New Media, Mike Merrill taught literature and writing at UCLA and Georgia Tech.He led one of the nation's first humanities classes combining cultural studies and Internet programming.Merrill has consulted with Turner Learning to develop a system that nightly builds custom pages for CNN Newsroom.He has managed many projects for Merrill-Hall, most notably the New Georgia Encyclopedia, and contributed to the development of the Teacher component of Encyclopedia of Alabama.He holds a B.A. in American and English Literature from Brown University and a Ph.D. in English Literature from UCLA.

After working on various multimedia projects, Michael Merrill and Benjamin Hall founded the company in the summer of 1998 to serve a growing demand for Internet design and consulting services.

A founder of Merrill-Hall, Mike has taught literature and writing at UCLA and Georgia Tech. He led one of the nation's first humanities classes combining cultural studies and Internet programming.

Mike has consulted with Turner Learning to develop a system that nightly builds custom pages for CNN Newsroom. He has also managed many projects for Merrill-Hall, most notably the New Georgia Encyclopedia, an online guide to the state's geography, history, arts and culture.

Mike holds a B.A. in American and English Literature from Brown University and a Ph.D. in English Literature from UCLA.

Balancing the needs of the various parties who will be using the encyclopedia is a key objective for the Georgia Humanities Council, according to Michael Merrill, who is a partner with Merrill-Hall New Media, the information architect and site design company for the project.
