Meg Merrill, MSW - Producer
Meg is a social worker, parent and every day activist.
She received a B.A. in Human Services and Sociology from the University of Oregon in 1990 and a Master's in Social Work from Portland State University in 1993.
Her best education comes from her experiences with children and their families.
Through these experiences, Meg developed a passion for examining personal and community relationships with media and nature and believes that consciously addressing these relationships is paramount to the quality of our lives.
Meg has worked as a Program Director and Clinical Supervisor for over fifteen years.
She served as the Director of the Home Outreach Project and the Choices Program, two federal research projects at the Insights Teen Parent Program.
Through these projects Meg worked directly with teen parents, counselors, community leaders, the Department of Health and Human Services, and researchers at the University of Pennsylvania to bring diverse communities together toward a common goal.
Meg continued as Manager of Clinical Supervision at Insights until 2006.
Meg also has years of personal and professional experience in the adoption field.
She worked for Families First, a coaching and counseling program, facilitating clinical groups and outdoor experiences for adopted children.
She also served as Adoption Specialist for an international adoption agency, completing home studies and addressing high-risk adoption situations.
She continues to consult on adoption cases and facilitate workshops on Fostering Attachment and Processing Grief and Loss in Adoption.
