John Merchant has extensive experience in construction related litigation over his ten-year legal career. He represents companies involving job site personal injury, construction lien, products and premises liability, and other business related litigation. He is experienced in matters requiring significant technical understanding of construction work and has litigated matters involving toxic mold issues. He also has significant experience representing homeowners in matters involving disclosure issues relating to the sale of real property.

In addition, Mr. Merchant advises companies and individuals in various areas of intellectual property law including patent, trademark, copyright, and Internet related issues. He is a licensed patent attorney and has significant experience prosecuting mechanical, software, and business method related patents. He currently advises corporations in the process of developing and implementing intellectual property protection programs.

Mr. Merchant is licensed to practice law in California and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court. He is also licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
