Mr. Meléndez earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Bernard Baruch School of Administration at the City College of New York.

He started his financial services career as Institutional Broker for Merrill Lynch, growing their start-up operation to a multimillion dollar subsidiary.He has earned a variety of brokerage and principal's licenses and was also licensed in Life and Disability Insurance, as well as Variable Annuities by the Equitable Life Assurance Company.He has completed training as Arbitrator and Arbitration Panel Chairperson with the NASD in the State of Florida.

His activities have earned him several awards for sales performance and sales training including the Effective Sales Training Award from BHC Securities, the clearing broker for Citibank.
