John McCawley
John McCawley is our computer guy, but we made sure that even our computer guy ended up being a bit of a sportsman!
He been a professional software developer since 1995.He began his career in the video game industry, developing two internationally distributed video games.Later, he developed business software at Interactive Systems International, specializing in Microsoft Visual C++ with a Microsoft SQL Server backend.
Starting in 2000, he worked at Air2Lan, primarily writing Web Based ASP applications with a Microsoft SQL Server backend.He also developed a custom data pump which copies data from an AS/400 database over to a MS SQL Server.This application was used both by MG Maher and New Orleans Cold Storage.He also developed a second data pump which copied Checking Account information to a web based system for Parish National Bank.Finally, he developed the Worltrac claims management system for The Worley Companies.
At the end of 2001, he was hired by Worley to maintain the Worltrac system full time.Over the next few years he managed an IT team of just 4 employees to support a home office staff of over 30, and a field staff of over 200.

Because of Mr. McCawley's diverse background, he has a great deal of experience with many disparate development environments and tools.He has administration expertise with both MS Windows and Linux, C++ development experience with MSVC and gcc, web development experience in ASP and PHP, and a scripting background with languages such as Perl, Python, and Javascript.In addition, from his game programming background he has expertise with graphics software such as Blender, Gimp, Photoshop, as well as graphics APIs such as DirectX, SDL, OpenGL, Irrlicht, and Allegro.Finally, he has a solid background in complex SQL queries with backends such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
All that said, he actually does know a little something about guns.While not much of a hunter, he has a fairly sizeable gun collection, and reloaded his own rounds for several years.While not an master marksman by any means, he does manage to hit the target from time to time.
