John McNanie's entire career path has been devoted to home building.During his high school and college years he worked for a small builder, in Cincinnati OH, who did little subcontracting.Consequently, John got hands on experience in all facets of home construction, from pouring footings and laying foundations to framing the house, doing paint and finish work and everything in between. After graduation, he moved on to Ryland Homes as a Job Supervisor, and in eight years had advanced to V.P. of Operations, a position he held for another eight years.
In 1991, John established Dublin Homes in Charlotte, targeting first time homebuyers in Union County, one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina.Based on his early experiences, he soon implemented an innovative marketing strategy "Come Out and Meet the Builder".He had seen how comfortable it made potential homebuyers to actually be able to meet and work with the person who would build their home. For example, Dublin Homes holds a ground-breaking ceremony for each homebuyer and their family and places a "SOLD" sign personalized with the couple's names on each lot.
Now after nearly two successful decades, Dublin Homes has built and sold hundreds of homes in Mecklenburg and Union counties. The company has made the KPMG Peat Marwick "Fast 50" list for 1995-1996, in recognition for being one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the Piedmont region.
John and Susan McNanie put a high priority on quality and customer satisfaction.

Says John, "If you build a good quality product and the value is there, people will buy it".
