After 19 years of service, City of Melville Chief Executive Officer, John McNally has announced his resignation from the organisation to lead the West Australian Local Government Superannuation (WALG) Fund.
John McNally was in the second year of his third consecutive contract as Chief Executive Officer for the City of Melville. He has been CEO for the past 11 years and Deputy CEO for the previous 8 years. John has also been associated with the WALG Superannuation Fund for the past 12 years as a director of the trustee company.
John McNally began working with the City of Melville in 1987 as Executive Manager Corporate Services, before moving onto Chief Executive Officer 1994.
In his time as the CEO, John McNally has built the City of Melville into one of the most innovative and leading local government authorities in the State. With best practice awards and principles founded of business excellence, the administration and service delivery of the organisation is highly regarded.
Under John McNally's leadership, the City of Melville has been able to deliver new world-class facilities such as two Recreation Centres, the Piney Lakes Environmental and Education Centre, Operations Centre and the Heathcote Heritage Precinct
"Looking to where the organisation was ten years ago to what it has become today, I can say that I am very proud of what the City of Melville has accomplished. It has been my absolute pleasure to lead an organisation which has the enthusiasm and commitment from both staff and Elected Members to continually improve the quality of life for our 97,000 residents," he said.
"I am confident that with the current strength in leadership of our teams, the City of Melville will remain an industry leader," he said.
John McNally's term as CEO with the City of Melville will officially conclude on Wednesday, 30 November 2005.
