    RACHEL MCMILLEN PAST PRESIDENT

Rachel's passion for live theatre goes back to her youth in Australia where she worked during her University years for a young theatre company as the lighting designer. Rachel moved to Canada in 1968 with her Canadian husband and continued to involve herself with the Port Alice Community Theatre group where she and her husband resided for three years. Moving to Kamloops in 1971, Rachel's love of theatre provided her with seemingly unending opportunities in the growing cultural arena of the city. As the Executive Director of the Kamloops Community Theatre, Rachel oversaw the fundraising for Sagebrush Theatre, which continues to serve the city of Kamloops as its main performing arts facility.

Once Sagebrush Theatre opened, Kamloops Community Theatre continued to run it for two years with Rachel moving from operations to a position on the board. At this time she also switched to working for Western Canada Theatre as their publicist. Rachel continued to be involved with Western Canada Theatre (which eventually took over the operations of the Community Theatre board) in various aspects until 2002 when she moved to Gabriola Island.

Rachel joined TheatreOne's Board of Directors in 2002, becoming Treasurer and is currently in her second term as President.

Rachel is enjoying her retirement years living on Gabriola Island and often travels to distant shores visiting friends and family.
