  Nerdy Physicist Kevin McMahon transformed from geeky science student to table hopping magician.Highlights included him being thrown in at the deep-end and having to perform some tricks in front of Penn and Teller (he completely cocked it up, leaving Penn looking somewhat bored and unimpressed), doing a 5 minute standup slot at a gay comedy club and the realisation on his face that saying he was a magician was a real girl-puller.This meant he no longer had to resort to using his 'lucky' jumper that from what we gathered gave him a little success with a girl, sort of, once.

  Kevin McMahon is a professional magician based in Scotland.He started performing magic in 2005 when he appeared on reality TV show ‘Faking It'.

  Kevin is a magician based in Edinburgh.He has performed many times at corporate functions (HBOS, Standard Life, Scottish Widdows) and has performed private functions at venues such as Edinburgh Castle.
  
  He also performs regularly at the Stand Comedy Club performing comedy magic.

  Kevin McMahon - Faker No More

  Kevin McMahon was a studying at the UK's Institute of Physics when producers recruited subjects for the reality show.His trek from a 'timid Kevin' to faking it as a top magician just four weeks later made for compelling television.
  
  The Scotsman described the transformation thusly: "He left the Capital a diffident, tongue-tied wallflower and after several cringe-worthy scenes returned a confident, convincing illusionist - and a ladies? man.Now Kevin has permanently hung up his white lab coat in favour of becoming a full-time magician."
  
  Said Mr. McMahon, "I wasn?t satisfied with my career, knew I didn?t want to be doing this [physics] and just thought I?d give it a try.I just wanted some fun."
  
  The show brought Mr. McMahon to London to study under professional magician, Nigel Mead.

  The show even flew Mr. McMahon to Las Vegas where he met with Penn and Teller.Unfortunately, Mr. McMahon wasn't prepared for the meeting.Assuming he would only be watching the masters perform, he elected to get drunk and return to his room at 6:00 am.When he met with Penn and Teller a few hours later, he fell flat.

  Kevin has been performing as a magician in glasgow for many years.His professional career started at TGI's on Buchanan Street early 2005 and since then he has performed for corporate and private clients at many city centre hotels and venues.He has also performed as far west as Troon and Oban.
